To follow along with Professor Brian Harvey’s Computer Science 61A lectures, I needed Scheme installed. While I believe Professor Harvey uses STK, out of UCB, in 2021, I found MIT’s version most updated and the guide to install easiest to follow.
MIT’s Scheme is found on GNU.org under MIT-scheme. While this will not work for the newest Macs, I’m “fortunate” in that I’m still using an Intel mac, so following the installation guide worked like a charm. The user manual is also helpful.
Alternatively, Richard Gray suggests using Racket for following along with SICP (which is the focus of CS 61A). BeautifulRacket has a great guide for updating a Mac’s PATH variable to include racket.
